What's Included
There's no single fixed format here — stilt fishing is a real, working tradition along this stretch of coast (Koggala and the Ahangama coastline in particular), and most visitors see it in one of two ways:
- As a stop on a wider tour — the Kosgoda turtle hatchery tour and Galle's tuk-tuk loop both pass real stilt fishermen along the way
- As its own small, informal experience — a per-photo fee paid directly to a fisherman for a posed shot, arranged on the spot rather than pre-booked

Mostly Posed for Photos
Much of what you'll see today is arranged for tourism rather than active subsistence fishing — a real tradition, but expect a small fee for a posed shot.
Already on Other Tours
Both the Kosgoda turtle hatchery tour and Galle's tuk-tuk loop pass stilt fishermen — check if you're already covering this elsewhere.
